爱神传媒’s Doctor of Business Administration in Energy Management is a terminal professional degree designed to provide experienced professionals, executives and aspiring scholars with advanced knowledge and applied research skills in business administration. In order to apply to this program, you must submit the ApplyTexas application, have a master's degree in business, engineering or another energy-related discipline (official transcripts of graduate degrees), five to seven years of progressively increasing managerial/supervisory experience in the energy field or related industry, an essay outlining your objectives for pursuing the DBA program and career goals, a current curriculum vitae, and three letters of reference. You are allowed to transfer up to six credit hours from another MBA- or master's-related program to the DBA program.
Financial Disclosure, Valuation and Modeling: This advanced course explores the intricate relationship between financial reporting, valuation techniques, and quantitative modeling to equip scholars with the tools necessary for rigorous analysis in academic and applied settings. It provides an in-depth understanding of financial statement analysis, corporate valuation techniques, and sophisticated modeling strategies. Leveraging case studies and academic research, the course emphasizes real-world applications, including the energy sector and other critical industries. Students will develop expertise in adapting valuation models for unique sectoral requirements and explore advanced topics like project finance structures and risk management under uncertainty. A core component of the course for doctoral candidates will be a research paper focusing on financial disclosure and valuation practices within the energy business or an industry assigned by the faculty. By the end of the course, participants will be adept at synthesizing financial data, identifying red flags in disclosures, and constructing robust valuation models that inform strategic decision-making in a dynamic global business environment.
Educational Research Methods: Review of research and research methods related to informed decision making related to schooling problems/issues. Emphasis is given to conceptualizing problems, selection, and application of research literature and critical judgement of the quality of research studies. Application of these principles to a current school-based problem is required.
Quantitative Research Methods: This course serves as one of three research courses (9 hours) in the doctoral program's research series. throughout the semester, this course builds upon students' understandings of quantitative research, its theory and methods. As a doctoral-level research course, the material covered will be intended to prepare the student for successful completion of a quantitative doctoral dissertation. The history and development of quantitative research will be covered, as well as the theory underlying the method(s).
