LUPD Training Taking Place at the Lucus Engineering Building on Tuesday and Wednesday

There will be an LUPD training taking place at the LU Lucus Engineering Building this Tuesday and Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This is only a drill, and there is no cause for alarm. Please avoid this area during this time.

New Parking Permits Available

The parking permits for the 2025/2026 academic year are available to purchase online. Please complete the permit request and update vehicle details, if needed, through the Parking link on Self-Serve Banner. Select an option when ordering to either pick up permits in the Parking Office in Wimberly #118 or receive them by mail. Questions may be directed to the Parking Office at (409) 880-7275 or parking@lamar.edu.

Attention Faculty Members: Salary Spread Election

Deadline: Friday, Aug. 15, 5 p.m.

If you wish to have your salary distributed evenly over 12 months instead of the standard nine-month schedule, now is the time to submit your Salary Spread Election Form. Completed forms can be emailed to hr@lamar.edu no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15.

New Process for Faculty/Staff Tuition Waiver

As of Aug. 4, the Faculty/Staff Course Enrollment Form must be submitted via SmartSheets. Paper forms are no longer accepted. Any forms submitted before Aug. 4 have been processed and a SmartSheet submission is not necessary. Visit the HR Benefits page for details.

FY26 Holiday Calendar

We are excited to share that the new Holiday Calendar for 2025-2026 is now available. You can access it here. We hope this helps you plan your time and holidays effectively.

Cardinal Course Materials
LU Launches Cardinal Course Materials Program

Cardinal Course Materials (CCM) is an affordable textbook rental program through the Barnes and Noble Bookstore. Through this program, students can receive required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes and electronic books. 

The CCM bundle will provide the needed learning materials at $24 per credit hour (added to your student account), saving students up to 35-50% on the cost of course materials. The cost can be paid by financial aid or by the student. If a student enrolls in a payment plan, this charge will be included in the payment plan calculations. Supplies are not included in this program and will need to be purchased separately.    

爱神传媒 students are automatically enrolled in the program at the time of registration and will begin receiving emails about selecting their preferred delivery method.

爱神传媒 Foundation FY25 Request to Pay Processing Deadline

Request to Pays for transfer of funds for the fiscal year ending Aug. 31, 2025, must be received in the Foundation office close of business, Thursday, Aug. 14. If you have any concern about the timing of delivery via campus mail, please hand deliver your packages.

Have something to share?  (e.g., events, publications, faculty research, awards, departmental congratulations, grants, etc.) and the Office of Marketing Communications will get the word out through emails, web, social media and more. 

All approved announcements must be received by Thursday at 3 p.m. to be included in the following week's campus update.
