Dr. Jator asked members to review the February minutes. A motion was made to accept the February minutes. Motion seconded, motion passed to accept minutes.

New Program Proposal - Leadership and Communication Minor
Bradley Mayer discussed the Leadership and Communication Minor requirements which is open to all students. Sheila agrees that their department is agreement with this minor. A motion made to approve – Motion passed
New Program Proposal - BAAS Emphasis in Film Studies
Bradley discussed the Emphasis Film Studies program. This will meet the demand for students who already hold an associate’s degree. Discussion held regarding the program. Motion was made to approve; motion passed.

Tony Kemerly addressed the committee to discuss the changes regarding the programs. The programs already exist within the department. The changes are due to a restructuring of the department’s undergraduate offerings. Three degrees each with two clearly defined pathways. A motion was made to approve the three programs. Motion passed. After discussing the courses related to the programs there are several KINT courses not on the agenda. The committee made the motion to hold the BS in Kinesiology and approve after the additional courses are approved.

An email was sent to committee asking them to review the KINT courses that relate to the BS in Kinesiology degree which was voted to pass upon approval of these courses. They were asked to vote on the courses so the program could move forward due to advising already being underway. This is an existing program, and most courses are name changes. The courses to review are as follows:
KINT 3350 Physical Education for Special Populations (name change)
KINT 3354 Sport in Society (name change)
KINT 4325 Advanced Program Design (new course proposal)
KINT 4330 Motor Development and Learning (name change)
KINT 4355 Exercise Prescription for Special Populations (name change)
KINT 4357 Health Risk Appraisal (new course proposal)
March 18, 2026, out of the 9 voting members 8 votes were received to approve the courses and move the program and courses forward. 1 no response.
