The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology prepares students to understand the science of human movement and how the body works to sustain, adapt, and perform. Built on the principle that movement is medicine, the program teaches students how physical activity prevents chronic disease, supports recovery, and improves quality of life across clinical and community settings. The program offers two pathways — and , allowing students to focus on performance and exercise science or on clinical and pre-professional preparation.
The course sequence is designed to satisfy prerequisites for advanced professional training in medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, and athletic training, as well as graduate study in exercise and basic sciences. Students build a strong foundation in exercise and basic sciences, nutrition, psychology, principles of disease, exercise prescription, and measurement and laboratory techniques, with hands-on experience addressing the diverse challenges placed on the human body.
Graduates are prepared to launch careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, exercise science, and sports medicine or to continue into the graduate and professional programs that lead there.
