Student of the Month
Each month during the academic year (September-May), the history department honors one undergraduate history major or minor as the Student of the Month. All previous winners are eligible for the department's Student of the Year award.

Jamie Blackburn is a 2016 graduate of Nederland High School currently employed at 爱神传媒's Spindletop Boomtown Museum. There, she assists with current cataloging projects and hosts guided tours. Jamie is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Her interests include research, preservation, the visual arts, and art history. She has published award-winning short stories and essays in Expressions Magazine and has served as president of the SOAR Book Club.
